Don’t wait for the trigger..

We humans like our comfort.. We often like it so much that we stop fully living, we become dull and miss out on so much life experience and opportunities.

We’ve become very good at coping with life’s challenges rather than embracing life’s challenges allowing them to teach us so we can grow and expand into our greatest version of self.

We learn our coping mechanisms early in life and it becomes so habitual we don’t even know we’re doing it, it happens completely on autopilot. This can be incredibly dangerous as not all coping mechanisms actually serve our highest good. Many of the come from our pain body and fear based mind. When we’re living in constant fear we’re in survival mode, there’s part of our brain always scanning for threat.

This prevents us from experiencing the fullness of life, love, connection, joy

Because when we’re in fear of the past coming up and bringing with it the pain we’ve suppressed for so long

Or we’re in fear of future pain and uncertainty

We’re not in the present and our brain is telling us that it’s NOT a time to be open to life.

The brain is saying often on an unconscious level - I am NOT safe.

Survival mode says there’s a threat, causing fear, anxiety, tension and stress and when we’re stuck in those mode for long periods of time, it exhausts and overwhelms our nervous system causing trauma to the nervous system. We are not designed to be in the mode for long periods of time but unfortunately it has become the world we live in.

Constantly busy and stressing out over money, relationships, work, family, not having something or being at a place in life we should already be at. Holding onto stories and beliefs that we should be someone, something or somewhere that we’re not.

Always chasing more, running away from pain, like a hamster on a wheel.

It’s exhausting and depressing.

We’ve forgotten how to be here in the now, present, mindful, in our hearts.

We’ve forgotten who we are and why we came here in the first place.

I believe we’re here to experience all that it means to be human, all emotions, desires, challenges, triggers, relationships, pain, pleasure, love, connection.. all of it.

We are energetic beings and energy is always moving, we are designed to continue moving, shifting, evolving, growing. But our comfort zone and fears keep us stuck playing out the same experience, going through the motion of the day, just getting by.

Rather than experiencing the fullness of the human experience. Honouring every emotion and sensation you GET to experience.

Instead we wrong certain experiences and put others on a pedestal. We shame ourselves and judge others constantly. Stuck in comparison and competition, people pleasing, perfectionism. And we dwell in our suffering.

Where focus goes, energy flows.

If you’re constantly focusing on the negative, the pain, what you don’t want.. That’s what your amplifying, that’s what you’re attracting.

It’s not about avoiding the negative but allowing yourself to feel the emotion, the sensation, detaching from the story of what you’re making the experience mean about you.

It doesn’t mean anything about you. Don’t take the experience personally, allow it to be an experience.

Feel the feeling and flow on my friend.

Get curious about the story, where it came from, what it’s creating in your life and acknowledge that you get to decide if it’s true or not.

When you experience getting triggered, know that it’s got little to do about what’s happening externally and more about what it’s triggering within you, what was already inside before the external experience took place.

Triggers are revealing to you what’s unresolved/unhealed within you.

This doesn’t condone another’s behaviour but it does show you what’s been buried within as a way of bringing the dark to light to integrate the wound and allow deep healing and completing of old cycles that have been holding you back and preventing you from fully living.

Triggers are stepping stone to deep healing.

But we don’t have to wait for these triggers in order to begin, continue or deepen our healing and awakening journey.

Often we stay in our comfort zone and avoid pain, discomfort and triggers as much as we can before it bursts out of us and we decide to do something about the thing we already knew was there. We procrastinate and hold off as long as we can and then when we’re triggered it’s so overwhelming, so intense, we become reactive and we lose ourselves, often leading to further pain, shame, self judgement and a desire to escape.

We go into different coping and defence mechanisms or grab at anything we can as a lifeline.

And when the trigger settles, because it will as everything is temporary, we go back into hiding, into comfort, avoidance, distraction, telling ourselves “It’s all good, I overreacted” and we don’t do the inner work that will actually liberate ourselves from having that kind of experience again

And we miss out of the gift, the wisdom, the message, the healing that the trigger was offering.

We tend to do the work when we hit enough triggers and pain points, we’re in such despair and suffering that we must do something, the comfort zone is no longer comfortable.

But why must we wait to hit this kind of pain before we begin the journey of liberation, to step into our power and greatest potential.

For me the journey began the same way, I was in such a dark place, something had to change. But I kept giving up and waiting for the triggers and pain points to be so excruciating before I did anything about it.

But along the journey I have deepened my practice and the healing journey has become not only about healing the past but also about expansion, reaching higher heights, having new experiences, living in the now, experience aliveness, love, connection, belonging within myself, it’s about LIVING fully, authentically, unapologetically

Getting to live life on my terms and experience abundance in all ways, all areas of life, and sharing what I learn with you and all who are ready to receive what I have to share.

The healing/awakening journey is about getting to experience all that it means to be human, about getting to experience your divinity in human form.

But the conditioning, programming and trauma we experience keeps us stuck playing small and deciding that this is just how it is, what can I really do to change it, why bother, it’s not gonna work for me, I’m not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, no one will listen to me,

We tell ourselves stories to keep ourselves “safe”, stuck in the comfort of what we’ve always known.

But I am here to tell you that there is so much more to life, so much more that you have access to right here, right now.

And you do NOT have to wait to get hit with a massive trigger to get started.

It’s when you feel good, relaxed, at ease, often when you think/feel like I don’t have to do anything right now, I’m all good..

THAT is prime healing and expansion time

When your nervous system is at ease, regulated that you have access to delving deeper on your journey than ever before.

When you’re triggered, your nervous system is already overwhelmed, trying to do deep work in those times as a way of escaping the trigger does NOT work. In those times you need support, self-care, compassion, kindness, to slow down and nurture yourself.

And when you find your centre you can come into self-inquiry about what that trigger is revealing to you and tune into what you need to support you in healing/resolving the wound, pattern, story, belief and integrating that stress cycle so you don’t get hit so strongly in the future.

You may get triggered again in the future but it won’t be so overwhelming and as you continue moving through those layers you will get to a place where those triggers no longer have that kind of power over you.

And even so.. You continue your journey, your practices.

And your journey shifts from being so focused on healing the past and more about living fully, authentically, unapologetically NOW and creating an incredible future for yourself and all of humanity.

And then we share what we learn.

And we rise together.

My message for you…

DON’T WAIT FOR THE TRIGGER,

Do the inner work NOW & find someone you resonate with to support you on this journey.

We all need support. This is NOT a journey we do alone.

Sending you my love on this wonderful day that we GET to live.

Thank you for walking alongside me on this journey.
